Check and adjustment of turns of idling

(each 48 000 km [30 000 miles] run or times in 24 months)



1. Frequency of rotation of the engine is called as turns of idling at the released pedal of gas. This parameter is among critical, defining both operation of the engine as a whole, and serviceability of functioning of its various subsystems.
2. Cock the parking brake and wheels prop up protivootkatny boots. Make sure that transmission is transferred to neutral transfer (RKPP) or established in the situation "R" or "N" (AT).
3. According to instructions of manufacturers connect a manual tachometer.

4. Disconnect the 2-contact electric socket from the electromagnetic valve of a purge of a coal adsorber of EVAP system (see an accompanying illustration).

5. Start the engine and at frequency of rotation of 3000 rpm warm up it to normal working temperature.
6. As soon as there will be a turning on of the fan of system of cooling, slowly dump engine turns to the single. Make sure that all accessories are disconnected, and transmission is transferred to neutral transfer (RKPP), or to the situation "R" "/N" (AT).
7. Consider the indication of a tachometer and compare it to the value given on a label of VECI, or in Specifications to the present Chapter.

In case of different interpretations the preference should be given to information provided on a label of VECI.



1. Before starting adjustment, make sure that the fan of system of cooling is switched off.

2. If turns of idling fall outside the limits an admissible range, take a cap (see an accompanying illustration) and make necessary adjustment, rotating the adjusting screw a screw-driver in the corresponding direction. Rotation of the screw make short steps (on 1/4 turns for an approach), each time checking new turns of the engine.

3. Muffle the engine and disconnect a tachometer. Restore initial connection of the electromagnetic EVAP valve.
